Plastic Beach is the Gorillaz’ follow up to their 2005 chart-topping album Demon Days. Well the 5 years were worth the wait. Oh No! you’re a pop star. But that’s ok, we love you. Marina & The Diamonds released her much-hyped debut The Family Jewels overseas late last month. Picking one good track wasn’t easy, but I settled on the pop-gem Oh No! solely for the lyrics “TV taught me how to feel, now real life has no appeal” which is describes the mood of the whole album. Not to say that its an obnoxious critique of pop-culture, but that Marina knows exactly what she’s doing and why.

My new favorite band has to be Two Door Cinema Club. Since the release of Something Good Can Work on a Kitsuné Maison Compilation this past summer, I’ve been waiting for more. Their debut album Tourist History has already become a huge hit over seas, with highlights like Undercover Martyn, Do You Want It All?,I Can Talk, You’re Not Stubborn and What You Know.
