Being as 2010 is now officially over, we need some new tunes to start off fresh. These few got me through the new year: Jame Blake’s Limit To Your Love is a bass driven Feist cover off of his 2011 self-titled debut. Although jj’s mixtape Kills was only released late December, it topped my 2010 favorites instantly. M.I.A’s It Takes A Muscle was chopped up by Pearson Sound into this beautiful sound scape refix. Midnight Magic remixed the Corrine track Dream A Little Dream for Scion. There are some fantastic cuts off of Last Train To Paris by Diddy’s new hip-hop troupe Dirty Money. Check out Strobe Lights featuring Lil Wayne and Ass On The Floor featuring Swizz Beatz. ceo released an absolutely beautiful cover of Beyoncé’s Halo. Pearson Sound has put together an official refix of M.I.A.’s It Take A Muscle. You know something is correctly labeled a refix when you can barely recognize the original through the chopped up vocals and smooth bass. It’s pretty sweet. The Fader dropped a radio week a few days back, but here’s the full version. Don’t mind the ugly album art.

M.I.A.’s /\/\/\Y/\ has stood out as one of my favorite albums of the year. Although many people are omitting it from their year-end lists, it would stand near the top on mine. Nearly all of /\/\/\Y/\’s tracks have aged well enough over the past few seasons to fit amongst the M.I.A. classics in my collection.
